As tourism is down and Maui Co. is continuing to enforce the shut down of transient vacation rentals…we need to ask ourselves who is really hurting?  The property managers, the property owners, landscapers, pool professionals, cleaning services, the neighborhoods values, the local shops and restauraunts, activity providers, wedding professinals, the schools, roads, and other budget items for our Co. to address.  The answer is all of the above.  Look around at the parking lots, vacant storefronts, homes for rent (they said we needed affordable housing, why is no one renting…perhaps its because their income is missing)….Our island is in need of some simulations and heads in beds may be part of our answer.
