Puako Spring Break Puako is a great location for a big island vacation and Aloha Sands is a wonderful home to spend a week. The house is beautiful, the views are spectacular, and the beach and lagoon are right out the back. We were a group of ten that never felt crowded. We all enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and used the lanai for coffee in the morning, sun bathing during the day, and cocktails in the evening. There is a great general store just a couple of hundred yards away that always seemed to have what he had forgot to get at the grocery store. We had a wonderful week and I am sure we will be back.

Best house in all of Puako The Seattle Aquarium research crew of four divers just arrived back to Seattle after spending the week at this gorgeous home in Puako, the jewel of the south Kohala coast. We were there to conduct the sixth year of our annual underwater video reef fish surveys centered in Puako. Since 2009 we have stayed in Puako at different rental homes in late January or early February to do this research. In February 2014 we had the opportunity to stay here. What a treat! The house is stunningly beautiful as well as comfortable. It met all our needs and then some. It has spectacular views of the Puako and South Kohala coastline, so for the few daylight hours that we weren’t working we had great views of the humpback whales breaching from the large and comfortable lanai. The house is eye pleasing and well-built will all the amenities. Everything about the house is perfect-from the two outdoor showers to rinse off sand and saltwater to the spacious and comfortable bedrooms.

HVR has developed highly specialized systems and policies with the goal of maximizing the rental potential of each property in the program. Our programs have been developed to accommodate the needs of a wide variety of owners, guests and properties.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

We are in the business of managing properties for the purpose of offering it to visitors and residents of the Big Island. It is therefore our mission to owners of properties to provide superior management services that will maximize the income potential of their properties. It is through satisfied guests that everyone’s interests are best served. Our goal is to operate under a win-win philosophy. What is good for guests must also be good for owners of the property and must be good for the interests of HVR. All parties must receive sufficient value for their efforts, investment and dollars spent, to remain a satisfied participant. As a homeowner represented by HVR you will be in partnership in operating your business. “Winning at the expense of someone losing isn’t partnership and isn’t sustainable. Think win-win and long-term growth.”

HVR has been providing exceptional management services on the Kohala Coast since 1985. The business started with a local real estate agent who was asked by a few of her clients to maintain and rent their properties when they were not in residence. In 1994 Patricia Freeman purchased the business. Patricia’s (most call her Pattie) background was selling luxury properties on the island of Oahu. First class service is what her Owner’s and Guests have come to expect.

Pattie Freeman provides excellent service and luxury properties for satisfied guests on the Kohala Coast

The guests of Hawaii Vacation Rentals comments for the Aina Malia home on Wailea Bay.

My family and I rented this beautiful Ohana for a Week. We wanted a place that our family could gather for a week to celebrate our 40th Anniversary, my 63rd Birthday and have a shower for a future daughter in la who lives and works here. Aina Malia was the perfect spot. My twin boys had both recently gotten engaged and our daughter married last summer so this was an opportunity for all 8 of us to get to know each other better and forge some new family memories. Having separate entrances and bathrooms for each couple worked great and everyone loved the outside showers and most comfortable beds. The home was so well organized and everything was well labeled so searching was kept to a minimum and they had EVERYTHING we might have needed. Having the pass through from the outdoor dining table to the kitchen allowed for whoever was cooking that night to still feel a part of the action. Each couple had a night to prepare a meal for everyone and on our anniversary we had a friend come up from Kona to make dinner for us all. Having the double fridges allowed us to bring much of the food up with us. And big BONUS was the Bar fridge for sparkling water and beer! The Eagle Ray sitings in the calm morning clear water were the perfect compliment to our coffee and later snorkeling or paddle boarding. The yard made for some exciting Bocce Ball games in the early evening as well. Having the beautiful new washer and dryer made keeping towels dry so easy. While we did not have much down time (by choice we are an active group!), the movie selection was extremely tempting! The beautiful glass and wood bowls as well as the original art truly made us feel that a special place was being shared with us. Someone was always finding new details in the tile and ceramic work, or with the asian wood components incorporated into the home. Sleep always came easy by 10 PM with the fans cooling us when the natural breezes stopped.The sounds of the birds got us moving again by 6AM! Healthy schedule! Having the hiking trail that follows the coast was a bonus for the runners in the group and my morning swim to the rock island and back was perfect.
We hosted a shower with a small group of my future daughter in laws friends from here on the island on Sunday. They loved being able to walk down the rock path and step into the sandy bottom of the bay.

I wish I could plan another trip for next year but we’ll have weddings pulling us together! So memories of Aina Malia will have to hold me for a few years! Mahalo for making it so easy to be in someone else’s home and feel so at home!
