Aloha Section PGA Raises over $10,000 for Patriot Golf Day

The Aloha Section PGA is pleased to announce that over Labor Day Weekend over twenty-two (22) golf facilities from across the State and their customers helped raise over $10,000 in support of Patriot Golf Day.

Golf facilities asked patrons to donate $1 or however much they would like to contribute over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Each facility offered different promotions to drive interest in this noteworthy cause. Ko Olina offered a free clinic and giveaways, while Turtle Bay had a drawing for a commemorative Patriot Golf Day TaylorMade Driver. The Dunes at Maui Lani extended special rates to all “First Responders” throughout the month of September. For a complete list of facilities and how you can get involved with Patriot Golf Day, log on to www.PlayGolfAmerica.com

Patriot Golf Day is a joint initiative of The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association which benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation  FoldsofHonor.org). Sparked by the vision and dedication of Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot, PGA Professional, and USGA member, Patriot Golf Day has spurred golfers nationwide to contribute over $1 million last year for scholarships that have since been awarded to spouses and children of our military heroes who were either seriously disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.

For a complete list of facilities and for more information about how you can get involved with Patriot Golf Day or to make a contribution to the Folds of Honor Foundation, visit PatriotGolfDay.com or foldsofhonor.org.

The people associated with the great game of golf have made a lasting commitment to back the charitable causes through the years, so the Aloha Section and all of Hawaii’s golfing communities are delighted to be able to support Patriot Golf Day.

NARPM Award , Rocky Maxwell Memorial Achievement Award presented to Alan Lundberg.

Alan Lundberg– NARPM Rocky Maxwell Memorial Achievement AwardThe NARPM Rocky Maxwell Memorial Achievement Award is given to the one person, nationwide, who has shown “outstanding leadership, interest, and participation in the first year of NARPM membership.

Alan Lundberg was a awarded the nomination for putting together and starting the Maui Chapter of NARPM during this year. As with any endeavor such as this, there is a list of people who worked together to make the Maui Chapter a reality, I merely did some of the “legwork”, Lundberg said.

” The real pride I get in receiving this award is not in the award itself, but in the fact that an organization such as NARPM, a group of the most professional Property Managers in the nation; people who hold their Property Owners and their properties in such high esteem and who exercise a moral and ethical committment to their tenants and the public as well would consider me worthy to receive such a prestigious award.”

Rocky Maxwell was a “giant of a man”, both physically and spiritually, who saw the vision of Property Managers coming together to share knowledge and become educated in the Property Management field and was one of the Founding Fathers of the NARPM Organization, dedicated to the betterment of the industry and it’s participants.

” I am extremely proud to be a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers at the national level and a member of the Big Island/West Hawaii Chapter at the local level, and will continue to work toward the values and goals of NARPM and encourage others to do the same.”
