Mortgage rates fall to new lows
In case you haven’t been keeping up, mortgage rates dropped this week to new lows, with 30 year rates falling to their lowest level in two years. Freddie Mac reported that fixed rate mortgages averaged 6.10% down from 6.20%. This is the lowest rate since the week of October 13th, 2005 when rates were at 6.03%.
Rates on 15 year loans fell to 5.73% down from 5.83 the week before. For 5 year adjustable rate mortgages, rates inched up slightly to 5.43% compared to 5.42 % last week. Sounds like a good time to buy to me!
