Kayaking at KOLEA

28 03 2008

WOW!!!!!! Even after having lived here for 20 years…..I have to say that I was blown away the other day when I went out at “A” Bay with friends in two additional Kayaks and found all the magical splender that one could hope for on yet another spectacular Kohala Coast morning. If whales sightings weren’t enough..being able to hear them trumpet and sing was about to make me even giddier….when low and behold…dolphin chatter…and a large pod of spinner dolphins showing off their aireal feats and pink bellies! Snorkeling was fantastic off shore and I swam alongside a trutle that was way bigger than myself…quite a morning and there are plenty more of them out there. That’s why I live here…..what are YOU waiting for????? I hope all of you reading this realize just how lucky we are to live Aloha…and if you’ve been feeling blue for ANY reason lately….get out there!!!

Good morning from Kolea

2 03 2008

What a beautiful morning here at Kolea. After watching an incredible sunset last night at Hali I Kai, that including a spectacular whale show with cast of at least 4 0r 5 whales and all the colors you can imagine as the sun made its departure…followed by a deep sleep that only ocean sounds can create..I was awakened five minutes before my alarm went off, by the official morning alarm…the KOLEA BIRD…and then by a chorus of all his/her friends! It was quite early…but I am not complaining. We are inbetween swells and the conditions are perfect for a bit of kayaking. There are lots of people making an early start this morning. I see people walking, jogging and biking all around the Waikoloa Beach Resort. Just another “Steller Sunday” here at Kolea. The boats are going in and out of A Bay, but I am just sitting on my lanai sipping some green tea and watching the whales from my perch. It is a great day..See you out there!!
