*****Are You Grabbing Your Halloween Costume And Heading For Maui? Think Again!*****

Halloween is a big celebration here in Hawaii and nobody takes it more seriously than Maui. For many years the streets of Lahina have been blocked off for one big Halloween celebration where upwards of 30,000 people gather. This annual party has begun to resemble Mardi Gra and the Valley Island wants no more of it. This year 80 to 90 Police Officers will be in the Lahina area patrolling for violators to the new code of conduct which includes;
No skimpy costumes, No alcohol, No Simulated Knives, Guns, Light Sabers etc.
Something to keep in mind when planning your costume!

*****Kauai Superferry Bill Passes!*****

Here on Kauai Kaumualli Elementary school was host to an overflow crowd on Monday of over 300, this was the first meeting State wide that State Senators held to get information on the bill that was being drafted concerning the Superferry fate at operating while an environmental study was being done or not. On Tuesday in Maui over 400 people gathered to give their opinions. On Wednesday Governor Linda Lingle held an emergency Legislative session to hammer out a bill to present to the House and Senate next week. This bill passed on Friday and I have included some information from the Garden Island Newspaper on the highlights of the bill. Next week this bill will go to the House and Senate for voting. The fate of the Superferry remain tenuous until the votes are tallied. I have included an excerpt from the Garden Island Newspaper which list some of the conditions;
