The Tide is Turning in Hanalei….. March 25, 2008
Posted by Sarah in : Updates , add a commentThe weather has turned and the days are spectacular in Hanalei Bay. The water is warm and clear and the surf has quieted down making the bay perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The Real Estate market is still in a corrective mode, but it is still active with people from Canada and other foreign markets looking for beautiful second homes or investment properties at a great price. Even with the mortgage crunch, there are still wonderful opportunities for the cash buyer. The time is now for any of you fence dwellers to make the leap from your comfortable perch.
The sky above us….. March 14, 2008

Real Estate activity in Hanalei has been very busy. I sold a charming older home for $1,730,000 and am soon to close on another Hanalei home for $2,695,000. Both were all cash transactions. It appears that the qualified buyer is recognizing the time to buy is now before the next real estate cycle upswing. This is a wonderful silver lining to the cloud formations forming above us that were blown in by the Mortgage Industry.
But as we say on the North Shore of Kauai, no rain….no rainbows!!
Springtime in Hanalei….. March 4, 2008
Posted by Sarah in : Updates , add a commentThe entire town of Hanalei comes to life with the eventual ending of winter and the beginning of spring. The Hanalei Lifestyle is in full bloom and you can feel the excitement of the locals as they get to spend more time outdoors. Both of the canoe clubs located in Hanalei town begin their long season in late February with runs up the Hanalei River three times a week. Everyone is invited to join either the Hanalei Canoe Club or the Namolokama Canoe Club. Even visitors can come and paddle in one of the many six-man outrigger canoes for a nominal fee. Paddling canoes is not only a great way to get exercise; it also promotes the beautiful Hawaiian culture while enjoying the magnificent scenery and ocean. It is truly a wonderful experience.
Another wonderful experience is watching the endangered Humpback Whales as they frolic with their young in the crystal waters off Hanalei Bay. The whales migrate from Alaskan waters to Hawaii to give birth and get their young ready for the long migration back and from late winter through spring, they are a sight to behold. You can take a “Whale Watching” tour or you can do what the locals do and find that perfect spot on the beach and enjoy the adventure of looking for these majestical creatures while partaking in a cool beverage of your choice.
Come to Kauai and enjoy all the beauty of our island…..
