Sex Offender and Census Data Removed From REsearch

REsearch 1 Comment »

Just a quick note…

We have removed the sex offender and census data from REsearch. This change is the result of feedback we received from our membership, which noted that the information was often inaccurate and hampered more than helped the listing process. As a result, our board recently voted to have it removed.

This change is effective immediately, and you will no longer find this information on the external link page within REsearch. If you have any questions or comments regarding this change, please do not hesitate to contact Product Manager Bob Schoenthal at bob@hawaiiinformation.com or at (808) 748-8753.

If you are interested in locating this information however, you can find it on the following sites:

Mahalo and have a great rest of your week!

Updates on IE8 and Security Settings

REsearch No Comments »

Please make note of the following changes that have occurred in regards to the compatibility with Internet Explorer 8 as well as with the security settings within REsearch, and make any necessary changes using the instructions below.

  • For smooth operation of IE8 with REsearch, you must make sure that the Compatibility View is enabled. For instructions on how to do this, please refer to the guide in REsearch’s help menu, which can be accessed by Members by clicking on the following link: http://web004.hawaiiinformation.com/absolutehelp/?f=549
  • REsearch was updated last week and it seems that in the process, the security settings were reset and as a result some users are experiencing problems when attempting to email or use forms. To fix this you will need to add Hawaii information as a trusted site in your security settings. For help on how to do this, please refer to the REsearch help guide which will walk you through the process. Members can access it by clicking on this link: http://web004.hawaiiinformation.com/absolutehelp/?f=52

Photo Captions Now Viewable on AlohaLiving.com!

Aloha Living, REsearch No Comments »

You’ve asked and we’ve delivered!  We’ve upgraded the property detail pages on AlohaLiving.com so that listing photos now include the captions you’ve entered into REsearch.

Photos are a key part of a listing’s appeal, and captions are an important way to add context — is this a view of the property, or from the property? Is this the master bedroom? Many MLS systems don’t support captions, so we’re glad to offer the feature in REsearch.  And with this upgrade, we’ve further made captions available to potential clients and the public, not just other MLS members.

The AlohaLiving.com caption display takes it a step further than on the former HawaiiInformation.com, including them both as image labels and displaying them in the photo “lightbox,” which works in all modern browsers – just hover over the photo thumbnails to see the captions!

If you’ve not previously included captions with your listing photos (and most of you don’t), we hope this upgrade and wider visibility encourages you to use them to benefit fellow agents and consumers alike!

Please Remember to Update Your Listing’s Tax Info!

REsearch, TMK No Comments »

Just a Friendly Reminder…

Hawaii Information Service The assessment values and annual tax information for the fiscal year from 7/1/2009 to 6/30/2010 has been updated in the REsearch TMK database, however, it was not done in the MLS database so as not to alter your listings without consent.

Important: To ensure that your listings are up to date, please make sure to check the TMK records for the revised assessment value and annual tax information and make any necessary changes.

Mahalo!
